The Maryborough Castlemaine DFNL recently conducted its 2020 Annual General Meeting kick starting the move towards getting back to community football and netball competitions for the 2021 season.
Stephen Broad was elected as president, continuing in the position he has filled for a number of years.
He will continue to be supported on the Executive by Vice Presidents Kaylene Rayner and Jamie Cox. Joining Kaylene and Jamie as a vice president will be Samantha Chapman, former club secretary of the Newstead FNC.
The vice president vacancy was created when Dennis Hedger decided not to nominate for the role which he has held for 15 years. Dennis' outstanding contribution to both the Maryborough Rovers FNC and MCDFNL for more than 50 years was recognised as part of the meeting.
Katrina Turner was re-elected as the netball President for a second year.
Brendan Birch and Kylie Richardson were reelected as Junior Football Development Officers.
As part of the AGM clubs were informed that the fixture which was planned for 2020 will be the fixture which will be followed in 2021. This fixture will remain as the first year of a three year fixture cycle approved to commenced in 2020.
Round one for 2021 will be commencing on the weekend of 15th - 17th April. A stand alone match between Maldon and Newstead will be held on Good Friday, 2nd April.
The 2021 grand final is scheduled to occur on Saturday 11th September.
